Seeing Is Believing

We all look at ourself in the mirror every now and then, if not everyday and for some it has even become an obsession. Though, we see ourself so often, how many of us actually know the person that we see in the mirror? Have you ever looked at yourself critically and asked yourself who you really are? Well, some might say that they are cheerful, friendly and helpful, others might describe themselves as boring, talkative and selfish.

But which is the real you? That's something we have to discover for ourself as nobody can understand ourself better than ourself. And we are what we believe we are. If we see ourself as someone cheerful, we will be the one to bring sunshine into the lives of others whereas if we see ourself as being a dull person then boredom will follow us wherever we go. Thus, whenever you look into the mirror at the beginning of the day ask yourself what do you really see there. If you see a lousy face then I bet that's how your day will turn out to be for that day. However, if you see a smiling face then your day will be brightened up by that smile.

What you see is what your brain believes and it will unconsciously act out the role to agree with what you perceive. Similarly, a person who perceive himself as a failure will not attract success whereas a person who visualise himself as being successful will find it hard to fail. Of course I'm not implying that by standing in front of the mirror and chanting that we want to be successful we will become one. But rather, when we see ourself as being successful we become more confident of ourself and when we are confident we are able to carry out our tasks more confidently and as such success will be imminent.

On the other hand, when we perceive ourself as someone inferior then we would go about doing our tasks with the fear of failing and as such it would be difficult not to fail. What we are witnessing here is a classic example of a chain reaction - whereby the outcome of an event depends on how we react at the onset of the process.

Start your day off on a favourable note and see how your day unfold favourably; start it on a foul mood and see how long the day become. Don't take my word for it, try it and experience the outcome yourself, just remember 'seeing is believing' - whatever you see yourself as your brain believes.
